|Wolfgang Tambour is executing fish portraits in multi colour woodcuts. His editions come in small numbers and are very much sought after by collectors.
Usually an edition is limited to 40 or 45 sheets. Carving and printing is done exclusively by hand by the method of burnishing and no printing press is used.
Some of his prints show up to 24 colours to give ultimate effect.
Many of his fly and rod caught fish act as models or patterns for woodcuts, etchings, lino-cuts, and oil paintings. Further subjects are aquatic life like flies, nymphs and their artificial imitations as most flyfisherman know them.
